Julia's back from medicamp... 16th to 19th july...
It was a great experiance. Lakota simply rocks... The people are so diverse yet we get along so well together. Everyone was really so sporting and spontaneous. It made the games all the more fun and enjoyable.
Personally i never really enjoyed games like amazing race. I don't see the point of running around to some pitstop to do something silly like a dance just to get the next clue. Then rush to the next pitstop only to be hampered by the fact that we missed the bus or by getting stuck in the skytrain. There are simply too many factors beyond our control. Plainly said, I never like to rely on luck. Then again, i really really do appreciate the effort put in by all ogls to make amazing race in medicamp a success. :)
Games were mostly well organised and well executed. Perhaps some of the more painful games were the America's next top model and the game involving a girl lying perpendicular on 4 guys rolling down the beach. Got some cuts and abrasion from these games... the soapy water was like full of sand. sliding on it really hurt... But it would have been worse for the guys... so kudos for having beared the pain of abrasion and having to carry the heavy me. sorry la, know i'm heavy...
Think the most no brainer game was the one with all the sauces... no point, but all in good fun i guess... haha poor guys. The gladiator game really freaked me out, although i didn't exactly show it. i can't swim for nuts.. sitting on a guy's shoulder trying to knock the opponent's back with the possibility of falling into the water simply isn't my cup of tea. but haha, glad i won. didn't want to disappoint you guys...
Perhaps the best and most memorable team event was the korean dinner. Everyone had a role to play, to contribute and work towards as an og. Being decor ic with sandhya, we had difficulties since we had little to work with. Glad that i thought of crepe paper as blinds/drapes/whatever they're called... it kinda softened the overall look of the place and hid the hideous looking brown toilet door. haha. oh and flowers from the bbq pit area as centre piece for the table... happened to see them lying dejectedly on the grass after the heavy rain. so picked them up. overall, it was a huge success. the food and entertainment people did so well!!! food was great and the skit was so funny!!! together with the pro dance moves of our ogls, it was a blast! i thoroughly enjoyed myself and i believe so did everyone. :)
*just found out we got 1st for this competition. woohoo! we rock!
Though medicamp has officially ended, i hope that our og will remain bonded! it's been great fun getting to know u guys. really really really... haha now i'm looking forward to rag! :)
